Had two gatherings with two of my former classes in the past two days.

01/03/09: ATS 6J'02 BBQ

Met Qiuling, Victor and Valene earlier to get some stuff for the BBQ, then went over to Valene's house and Valene drove! OMG. This is the first time that I've gotten into a car driven by a friend and it feels kinda weird. Haha.

Anyway, got there too early, so started playing mahjong first. By the time we were about to start the BBQ, the thing we most dreaded arrived - rain...... So we stayed at her house, preparing the stuff first, while waiting for the rain to get smaller, and luckily it did in around 30 minutes =)

Because there was still slight drizzling, we went to the pit and started the fire inside the shelter, on the aluminium tray first. But cos the charcoal we used initially was only small pieces, the fire could not be started. So we couldn;t even start BBQ-ing until the rain was very small. Threw whatever ash/charcoal we had into the pit, and amazingly, Valene's father could turn it into and inferno! (ok, not so exaggerated la, but it was still a good fire). All of the girls and a couple of guys started BBQ-ing while the rest slacked -.- Haha. The food was ok, and there was too much for everyone cos a lot of people ps-ed us on that day.

Overall, it was still a good BBQ. The only bad parts were the rain and that many people did not turn up as promised, resulting in too much food. A lot of the credit must go to Valene and her family, for hosting it. Especially Valene's father, who worked so tirelessly for us, making the fire, cooking the food, and sending some of us home.

After the BBQ, Victor and I stayed back for a while to watch Man U's Carling Cup Final against Tottenham. Valene was so desperate to proved me wrong, that I have no curse la. So watched the full 90 minutes plus the 30 minutes and no extra time and also the penalty shootout. And Valene and her dad drove me and victor home after that.
