okay.. judgement day..
so, after two months of intensive planning, sleepless nights, moments of stress, moments of elation, rejections, approvals, dry runs, briefings, the day to judge my work has arrived.
the night before, i was thinking.. everything should be done.. logs should have been settled, things that i need to print are already printed.. all that i need to do are done.. but this morning, as i worked up, i was thinking the opposite.. did kahhou print the puzzles? are the things that are supposed to be in council room still there?? will there be enough coins?? so many questions rushed through my head as i desperately try to think of a plan in case something bad happens today..
apparently, madeline could see that i was a bit stressed up and made a card for me:) i'll keep that card in my wallet, and should i feeel stressed up in the future, i'll look at it and ask myself to calm down.. thanks, again:)
so, briefing with gamemasters first thing in the morning.. the night before, i had thought out what i wanted to tell them. but just at that moment, my mind became a blank yet again and it took me some time to collect my thoughts and give them a short briefing..
after that was the setting up of stations. this was a part which i was very worried about, cos all that i visioned is in my head and it is not easy to put them into words. moreover, logs and indoor games people were missing and uncontactable.. the only people left were the councillors and ogls who knew near nothing about what i planned, and so i cant ask them for help. had to settle all the logs and coins by myself. thank goodness i did some of them early in the morning and i did not have to really rush.
as for the coins, i had already calculated enough for the whole game.. but apparently, some problems popped up during the game. i shall talk about that later.
so i had to rush about settling logistics and preparing the briefing for the freshmen in the meantime.. no time to catch my breath at all..
10am. briefing time. proceeded with the video first (i'll try to get the video from sherm and upload it here.. its damn funny) before i started the briefing.. on stage, i was struggling to recall what i had to tell them: the venues, how the game flow is like, time to report back.. but one important thing i forgot to mention was the purpose of these games.. -.- thankfully, meifong was just by my side and added this in..
2hours 20minutes of games.. basically tested my stamina as i constantly had to travel between stations to check on how they were doing and if they needed more coins. i had to do this alone, again, cos the other inddor games comm members were busy with the gambling station..
it was only in the last half an hour that i settled down in the hall as everything finally went smoothly without my assistance..
after the station games was the barter trade thing. things kinda got out of hand in the second session as people began to snatch the stuff we were selling on stage, which resulted in the near total destruction of the treasure chest, the hard work put in by all the councillors in the last month.. in the end, jieying, yupei, carmen and i had to be busy with rescuing the chest in time for the outdoor games tomorrow.
no doubt i screwed up on my briefing, no doubt the more funny parts of the video were lost somewhere in the council room.. but overall, the whole indoor games still went pretty well. the jc1s were just as enthu and high, as i received complaints that even students at the fourth level could hear their cheers.. with comments like this, i can still rest in peace, knowing that the indoor games was a success.. haha.. i sound like im going to die soon..
but without the following people to assist me in this project, i would have fallen so many times that there would be no chance for me to pick myself up:
meifong wenbin aaron chinfang madeline sharon peipei fai fazil guobin vincent chitsian jingshen marcus sherman willy jeriel junyan kiayong eugene julie nisha albert fairoz waidek evan huiyin and of course all those who helped me in the making of the props:)
thank u guys..
and good luck tml, yupei and lionel...
